The digestive system consists of the parts of the body, working together, that help turn food and liquids into the building blocks and fuel the body needs.

The digestive system is made up of the digestive tract and a few other important organs. The digestive tract is like a long tunnel with many sections and different areas (think of a waterslide). All the parts of the digestive tract and these organs work together to allow you to digest, which means getting what your body needs (nutrients and energy) from food, and then getting rid of the waste that's left over. So let's take a trip to check out all the parts - and find out what happens to the food that we eat!
